Designing The Future With Co.Ro. Jewels

Italy's capital, Rome, is known for its ancient ruins, baroque foundations and ancient architectural marvels that litter the streets and piazzas. Whether you love the design of the Colosseum or are drawn towards more obscure spots like the Centrale Montemartini, this eternal city will never cease to amaze you with its architectural design. So, it comes as no surprise that the designers of Rome are constantly inspired by every stone, line and column. One such jewellery brand is Co.Ro. Jewels.

Co.Ro. Jewels

This Roman boutique designs handcrafted jewellery inspired by architecture and artistic movements. Merging together fine craftsmanship and an innovative spirit, the brand creates designs that are timeless and modern, simultaneously. Founded in 2012 by two young female entrepreneurs, the brand has continued to experiment with each of their designs over the years.

Architecture

The wonderful combination of art and architecture makes each collection of Co.Ro. unique. Sharing a passion to translate architectural forms into wearable artworks, the founders established a brand whose designs are timeless and elegant, in short– architecture-à-porter.

The unique jewellery pieces are a result of the designers’ research into space, volumes and shapes. They use lost-wax casting and 3D printing techniques to bring their designs to life. Thus, their designs are original and contemporary, with just the right flair of classic brought in through their core inspirations.

Italian

Sophisticated and elegant, Co.Ro. Jewels are known for their detail-oriented craftsmanship which is done by hand by local artisans. Using gold, sterling silver, bronze and ruthenium, the artisans craft jewellery that is much sought-after in the city by locals and tourists. Although the atelier is small, their artisanal designs speak for themselves.

How It All Started

While high school friends, Costanza De Cecco and Giulia Giannini, were enrolled in an architecture program, they decided to attend a jewellery design program at Accademia del Costume e Moda in Rome for fun. Completely enamoured by the art of jewellery design, the duo knew they had found their true passion.

They went on to found Co.Ro. Jewels in 2012 in a cosy studio in the lively Monti district. The name of their brand is a tribute to the historical former location of their school: Piazza del Collegio Romano, which is the Roman square located between Piazza Venezia and the Pantheon, where the two co-founders met during high-school. It was in 2016, that they became licensed architects and soon went on to open a new atelier in the very heart of Rome, designed by the two with a gold and blue royal palette.

Over the years, the boutique has become a much-admired atelier in the city. Their design studio is known for their handmade, artisanal luxurious designs, each of which has been inspired by shapes and forms found in Italy.

What We Love About Co.Ro. Jewels

Paying special attention to the concept of space, the creative co-founders have focused on replicating the same philosophy and details within their collections. When looking at their designs, it is hard to ignore the beautiful geometrical shapes, the intricate lines and expert craftsmanship.
