From its picturesque landscapes to its vibrant cultural traditions, Spain has been a source of inspiration for artists, designers and creatives, local and global alike. Over the last century, Spanish fashion has seen a complete transformation, with prêt-à-porter becoming increasingly popular and haute couture seeing a slight decline. However, designers have persevered to keep the unique culture of Spain alive through art and fashion.
Art, creativity and innovation form the essence of the Spanish brand, Leandro Cano. From avant garde designs to ready-to-wear essentials, this brand has an amalgamation of products that are enhanced by their craftsmanship, materials and design.

Breathtaking Collections
Leandro Cano, named after its acclaimed founder, is easily recognized for it’s inspiring collections that always manage to tell a story. Heavily inspired by Spain, the designer integrates his homeland into each of his designs.

Placing stock in values such as creativity and innovation, his designers rely heavily on expert craftsmanship, teamwork and an unrelenting attention to detail. The founders wild imagination juxtaposed by the artisans expertise result in garments that are original and absolutely breathtaking.
With hand-worked patterns, voluminous silhouettes, natural fabrics of the highest quality and gorgeous illustrations, Leandro Cano manages to turn each garment into a work of art. The designer strikes a balance of coherence and harmony through shape, fabric and colours.

A brief history into the designer
Born in Jaen, a little town in Andalucía, this Spanish designer moved to Granada to study graphic design and photography at the age of sixteen and later moved to Seville to study fashion design. While pursuing his passion, he participated in several contests like Pasarela Abierta in Murcia or MOVE in Seville.
It was in 2012, after acquiring his degree, that Cano launched his namesake label with a tremendous start. He showcased his first collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. In the same year, he gained the title of “Designer for Tomorrow”, in a contest sponsored by Marc Jacobs. He was also a part of the MBFW Berlin in 2013. Throughout his career, he has been the winner of several prestigious national and international awards, including the Samsung Innovation Project in 2014.

The Seville-based designer has now successfully collaborated with Marc Jacobs, designed costumes for the play ‘Los Cuerpos Perdidos’ by prestigious Director Carlota Ferrer and given talks and speeches at some of Spain’s biggest universities.
From 2017, the designer has adopted a new strategy. He launches an artistic, couture collection each year. For the different seasons, he creates ready-to-wear collections using the same inspiration, be it bullfighters or folkloric Spanish women.
With numerous accolades and an unmatched design aesthetics, this experimental designer has been setting the path into an unconventional yet bold industry.
