The Honeymoon Essentials Packing Guide

After 2 years of cancelled events and rescheduled weddings, the wedding season has arrived and it seems to be talked about everywhere. Endless guides on how dress as a guest and make a dynamic return to the wedding scene we had forgotten about are now commonplace. Along with the happy occasion, it is only natural that honeymoon plans are back too. And that is why we're here.

You spent uncountable hours planning the big day, going to wedding gown fittings, RSVPing with the guests. Your time to relax and celebrate your romantic union is after the wedding. After all, it will be one of the most memorable and frequently asked about trips you will ever have.

While you've been busy planning every wedding detail, we are putting weight off your shoulders by listing your go-to honeymoon items. Thank us later, for now–enjoy!
Sundress

A Midi Dress

On your honeymoon, carry chicness and glamour wherever you go this summer. A favourite  item has to be a midi dress. Easily paired with just about anything–from gladiator sandals to a leather jacket–this piece is equally admirable as it is comfortable. We love this baby blue, boho-cut by Sundress that carries with it a feel of romance and dream. Just the vibe your honeymoon should have.

If you are a fan of colourful prints and florals, we understand. And thankfully, so do our favourite brands. With a vast selection of midis to princess-like dresses, you can impress your significant other at dinner just as much as you did at first sight. After all, romance is never out of season.

A Sun-Hat

Essentiel Antwerp

As Google suggests, chances are you will spend your honeymoon somewhere exotic and sunny. That means two things: SPF and a large hat (or more if you're like us)! Protect your skin with style and remain in the lounge chair without fearing of burns or sunstroke. And as always, do it in style. The designs we love will make you look like a real-life retro movie star.

A Beach Bag

We are really hoping no one disturbs you on your honeymoon. A big beach bag does not mean that you need to carry any laptop, phone or other work device! Fill it with your beach towel, sunscreen, book, swimwear and sunglasses. We are not going on honeymoon anytime soon but this bag by Essential Antwerp might have been love at first sight. We're getting it anyways!

A Jacket

Marques Almeida

No matter where you are headed to for your celebratory trip aka honeymoon, a jacket is essential. Be it a soft breeze or a temperature drop, no suitcase is ready without a jacket to fight it. While it may be romantic to borrow your significant other's blazer for a little while, it can seriously damage your style. So remember to pack one!

Marques Almeida have quite a few suggestions, from a neutral beige jacket with imposing shoulders to a non-conventional, edgy denim one which can be paired perfectly with your dress. For the lovers of classic, try an oversized suit jacket from Pixie Won't Play.

Jewellery

''The details are not the details. They make the design.'' This is what Charles Eames said and jewellery appreciators know that very well. No matter how minimal, do not underestimate the difference jewellery can have on a look. By now your favourite piece might be your wedding ring, but a pair of imposing earrings or a necklace go a long way in complementing a look.

Swimsuits

Assuming you will be in a sun-filled destination, pay attention to the swimsuit pieces you will pack. Bikinis or one-pieces, monochromatic or printed, you can take a few more than you will need easily as this beloved summer attire occupies very little space in the suitcase, but very much in our minds. Remember to pack those that make you look amazing while you lounge around.
