Bera Design: Bera Cosmos Bag
Based in Istanbul, Bera Design`s mission is to keep the enigmatic heritage of Anatolian culture (Asia Minor). Shrouded in mystery, their society mostly homanaged the mother goddess (associated with lion), the weather god (bull) and their son (panther). Gods were imagined to have their own lives but always in need of human service. They lived in their temples, though passing time in heaven or roaming the seas and mountains.
The creation myth tells a story about how the god Kumarbi wanted to become supremer than Teshub, creating a stone monster. The monster stands on the shoulder of Atlas, who carries heaven and earth. When Teshub fails the battle, appeals for help to Ea (Babylonian god of wisdom). She orders the “former gods” to produce the ancient tool by which heaven and earth had once been cut apart. Finally the stone monster was destroyed.
Founded in 2016, Bera Design is much more than a bag brand, their architecture-like pieces are inspired by ancient believes about cosmic order, mythology, art and nature. They combine old local hand- and craftsmanship traditions with modern spirit to make the perfect fusion.
