Finnish brand Ivana Helsinki is bringing to life the spirit of its Scandinavian roots while mixing it with vintage magic. Their enchanting approach to fashion enables you to create your own fairy tale.
Known as the art, cinema and fashion brand, they delicately merge Slavic rough melancholy with pure Scandinavian moods. Ivana Helsinki aims to open people’s mind to sustainability and hence their collections are always timeless and made with high-quality materials.
Vintage Luxury Aesthetics
Ivana Helsinki’s collections merge delicate retro style with luxury materials. The brand creates feminine clothing with a bohemian spirit–perfect for all those who love cottagecore. You’ll fall in love with their floral motifs, cheetah patterns, ruffles, fringe and tiered designs. Moreover, their colour palette backs up their aesthetics with a pretty display of pastels merging with brown, blue and black.
The official brand website of Ivana Helsinki describes their collections as: “small ballads with charming, soulful and savvy tones.”
As the designs are inspired by Scandinavian nature and the world of fairytales, they transmit the 19th century’s Romanticism. Marrying the founder’s filmmaking passion with fashion, the brand creates films to supplement the collections.
The Helsinki-based brand creates functional fashion where each design is a standout-piece by itself.
With each collection, they ensure the use of environmentally-friendly materials like organic cotton and modified fibres like viscose.
The History of Ivana Helsinki
The brand was founded by Paola Ivana Suhonen in 1998. It started off as a passion project for Paola whose ideology revolves around being free spirited.
She is an artist and filmmaker, along with being a designer. She graduated the University of Art and Design, Helsinki and studied at American Film Institute.
Although she established the brand a little later, clothing business had been in a huge part of Suhonen family story since the ’60s. Today, Ivana Helsinki is the only Nordic brand that takes part in the Paris and New York fashion weeks.
