The creative passion for fashion drove two Italian partners, in life as well as work, Federica Cavenati and Marco Capaldo to launch 16Arlington. Their combined dream along with the stimulating creativity that the vibrant streets of London had to offer, led them to starting a brand that has gained a cult-following.
Although the brand was established just a few years ago in 2017, it did not take long before it attracted the attention of fashion aficionados and big household names. British Vogue described its pieces as ”conversation-starting”, a characterisation right into that says it all.
Party Ready
Perhaps the most indicative trait of the glamour that exists within each of 16Arlington pieces, is their party-ready glam. Their collections instantly elevates your entire mood along with your appearance and transcends you to a disco–real or imaginary. It is what we would wear if we were lucky enough to have visited Studio 54!
The designs speak of the two different personalities of the founders. Meeting halfway with Cavenati’s inclination towards minimalistic, clearly defined shapes and Capaldo’s keenness on anything sequin, shiny, furry and dazzling. Eccentric, maximal and alluring, the brand has recently stepped into bridalwear too with proposals of dresses celebrating themselves.
16Arlington is centred upon catering to the need of women for glam, good-time and expression. As the designers proclaim, their muses and customers are fierce females, unapologetic, uncompromising and strong within themselves.
16Arlington From The Start
The go-to label for cool, vogue-obsessed girls, started in 2017 in a small London apartment on Arlington street. The duo behind the brand, Federica Cavenati and Marco Capaldo studied together, became a couple in love as well as life and decided to channel their inventiveness and imaginative ideas into their professional love child–their 16Arlington brand.
As they have admitted, their studio apartment served as the hub for their creations to take place and grew by word of mouth as friends and acquaintances would borrow clothes for a night out and refer more and more people to it as naturally questions were asked regarding the origin of the beautiful pieces.
Unfortunately, Federica Cavenati, the one half of the brand’s core and identity, passed away in late 2021 at only 28 years of age and with a more than promising future ahead. Capaldo is continuing to drive the brand’s success and dedicates all of the upcoming work to his late partner in all.
