In post pandemic times, innovating to offer excellent customer service and buying experiences digitally is a necessity; and AiSPi’s trunk shows are a key example of what innovative buying in the digital space looks like. Trunk shows feature a limited showing of pieces, and up until the late 20th century, items were carried to vendors in trunks, hence the name.
At AiSPi, our trunk shows are a mix of the digital and physical. There are three different formats of trunk shows. One format is a private, invite only zoom showing where the designer shows her pieces to the AiSPi Club. The second is a digital drop; where we tie up with one or more designers and sell their products for a limited period of time online, and you receive customer service over WhatsApp. And the third is the more typical format; the physical pop-up show. These pop-ups will be in major cities in India, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. Similar to the historical format of trunk shows, our physical pop ups are only 2-3 days.
AiSPi offers customers the experience of shopping designer’s work from all across Europe, to allow your fashion to tell a story about unique experiences from all over the world. When I asked Aisha Saraf Kothari, founder of AiSPi, what her favorite part about trunk shows is, she says, “The curation. At every trunk show, you see it from the eyes of a curator. There’s always some person who has put that layer of advice on top of things. And I think that’s always interesting.”
AiSPi trunk shows carry a limited supply of unique boutique designer items. Aisha shares on their unique signature, “if you don’t buy it now, it’s over. There’s no free access to this product forever and just the fact that you’re the only one who will have it… it’s not like the whole world will own it, which is a big factor.”
Think you’ll be seeing the same bunch of pieces? You’re in for a surprise. “You don’t know what to expect: new designers, new concept, personalisation. With the combination of limited and personalised, with discovering new things; that is what I enjoy most about the trunk shows,” shares Aisha.
Any other gems to share about the upcoming trunk shows? “Limited edition pieces: there’s always going to be one offs, there will be pieces that can’t be produced again.” Currently, our handbag capsule trunk show is happening digitally. Next, is a digital spring edit with Georgia Hardinge that starts in the middle of March. And towards the end of the month, get ready to experience some amazing products first-hand at our physical pop-up in Delhi.
