Fashion is one of the ways (maybe the most fun one) people can share their personal style and feelings without having to speak. It communicates who they are and what energy they bring to a place. Historically, it was used to express thoughts and feelings, from radical political ones or simply to showcase one’s personality.
Over the last few years, conversations around inclusivity and self-expression have taken centre-stage with fashion acting as the tool through which the story is told. I like to compare fashion to writing, despite all of us having stories to tell not everyone decides to grab a pencil.
Your personal style can communicate, moods, aspirations, goals, and even seasons of life.
If you’re someone who is not afraid to take the style spotlight and show who you are through what you wear, then you can become a fashion change-maker too. Learning to drown out the noise that keeps you from connecting to your inner essence is hard but not impossible. Fall in love with pieces that speak to your style and aesthetic. Be it a leather jacket you pick up from Double A, the classic Rosantica you purchased with your first pay check or that Celia B dress that reminds you of childhood memories, each garment and accessory you wear should speak of who you are as a person.
Our goal at AiSPi is for you to develop your fashion signature again by finding pieces that speak to you and share your expression with the world.
What does the best version of yourself wear?
Take a trip down memory lane and look back at old photos of yourself. Inspect what you used to wear, this will help you rediscover your fashion identity. Did a certain blazer make you feel powerful? Did your first pair of heels fill you with self-confidence? Is dressing in colours the way you share your happiness with the world?
Create a character of what the best version of yourself looks like and ask yourself: What do they wear on a daily basis? Where do they shop? What kind of colour are they attracted to? Do they lean towards minimalistic pieces or is it maximalism that excites them?
Falling in love with your own style is the journey of falling back in love with yourself in all the versions: past, present and future. Don’t be afraid to try new things and embrace your individuality. It’s all about having fun and letting your personality shine through. And AiSPi is here to help you do just that.
