The History of House of Dagmar
In 2005, Karin Söderlind, Kristina Tjäder, and Sofia Wallenstam—three sisters—founded House of Dagmar. They carry on their late grandmother’s tradition of making clothes. She created an impression on the three sisters via her work as a model and a tailor with an impeccable sense of style, detail, and workmanship. The sisters moved the firm into the modern era. They have forward-thinking perspective on sustainability and forthright response to the issues it brings. They continued their grandmother’s timelessly chic, knitwear-focused design legacy.
House of Dagmar has embarked on a significant path toward sustainability. So, they promised to improve its practices and adopt the European Clothing Action Plan (ECAP) to track its progress. Despite the passage of time, the Dagmar DNA remains as strong as ever. In 2015, they were recognized for their efforts by being named the Swedish Elle’s Designer of the Year. Three smart sisters found a clothing line with a strong commitment to sustainability and an eye for design for today’s discerning lady.
