There’s a lot that can be admired about the gem-encrusted and gold-plated bronze encased creations of Begüm Khan. This Istanbul-based jewellery brand evokes a glitzy bygone era that’s royal-led with a modern twist.
Each of the jewels capture the spirit of the place where they are imagined and made while still seeming ageless–making them true modern heirlooms. The line began with ornate cufflinks and has now expanded to include jewellery and other accessories for both sexes.
With their unique, attention-grabbing designs, the jewellery of Begüm Khan continues to shine.

Collections
Begüm Khan finds inspiration everywhere—from the intricate design of an ancient rug to a chance encounter with a total stranger—but the Orient, the Far East, and the Ottoman empire continue to serve as her most reliable sources of creativity.
The designer’s creations, which are also inspired by the natural world, include a zoo of rare and priceless animals and plants, including as pink sapphires, baroque pearls, and other gems. Turtles, koi fish, and lotus blossoms hang from earrings and necklaces, while stag beetles and ladybugs adhere to brooches and cuffs.
Glamorous yet nostalgic, the jewellery collections of Begüm Khan never fail to impress. They are traditional yet modern, quirky yet classic.
To this day, Turkish artists painstakingly construct each and every item by hand, giving them individuality and character in the process.
The History of Begun Khan
Designer Begum Kiroglu spent her childhood playing in the labyrinthine streets of Istanbul as her family traveled the world in quest of antiquities. She started her education at Bocconi University and then transferred to Shanghai University to get her master’s degree in Chinese art and culture.
Begüm followed her artistic drive farther East, down the ancient Silk Road, to Shanghai, where she earned a master’s degree in Chinese art and culture.
“For me, the design journey always starts with an artistic need. I am constantly hunting for beauty and when I can’t find what I am dreaming of, I start making it. I learned art shouldn’t be limited to precious porcelain hidden behind glass. Art was part of our daily life, and I see it as a way of living,” she says.
The Begüm Khan label was created in tribute to the illustrious past and bright future of these two contemporary fashion meccas.
